Constable For Catching Criminals (捕快卜曼, 2019) / Detective Bu Man Decades ago, a group of Japanese pirates attacked the coast and was captured by the Ming army. Its leader Higashino Goro was beheaded for public display, and the head was hung above the city gate. Unexpectedly, Goro Higashino had a suicide note. He arranged for his Chinese-speaking wife to pretend to be a Han Chinese and gave away his two children.
Decades later, the Japanese pirate rebellion in the Ming Dynasty has almost subsided. Changde Mansion arrested Buman obsessed with work, and his performance was close to that of his boss. He was sent to Taoyuan County, a model county across the country, to serve as the inspection department.
Taoyuan County is poor and remote, but the folk customs are simple, and no major event has happened in more than ten years. Bu Man took two and a half slings to catch the fast-chasing the wind and killing his life. Here, he met the humble magistrate Liu Dongchong, and the female widow with superb medical skills made Changyi. Everything seemed to be happy. But there was a temple in Taoyuan County where I don't know what god was enshrined, which attracted Buman's attention.
In the calm county town, a series of mysterious cases happened after Bu Man arrived. Bu Man did not forget his original intention to pursue the investigation, and finally revealed the secrets about the Daming Shrine hidden in the small county town.
