Load scripts, styles and frames over HTTPS on Shopify

headers.resources.mixed_active · effort: about an hour

Why it matters

Browsers block http:// scripts, stylesheets and frames on an https page, so parts of the page break, and anything loaded that way could be altered on the network. Every such resource must come from an https:// URL.

The fix

  1. Open Online Store, Themes, then Edit code on the live theme, and search the theme files for http:// (layout/theme.liquid, sections and snippets).
  2. Check custom HTML in pages, blog posts and theme settings (use the HTML view of the editor) and change the URLs to https://. Scripts injected by apps cannot be edited in the theme; contact the app's developer.
