Fill in the empty part of the homepage title
Why it matters
The title starts or ends with a separator such as a dash or a bar, which means the page name or the site name that belongs next to it is empty. Search results and browser tabs show the stray dash, and the headline of the result is weaker than it needs to be.
The fix
- Look at the title of the homepage and decide which half is missing, the page name or the brand name. Write it in, or remove the dash if only one part is wanted.
- Fix it where the title is built (the theme, the SEO plugin or the page settings), not in the page output, so every page gets the correction.
